Volunteer | Full-time | On site

Volunteer will assist in all aspects of teaching mathclasses and lessons. Other duties will involve the following:

• a. Assist in teaching the above mentioned class and undertake such extra-curricular activities and supervisory duties as administration may assign.
• b. By precept and example, seek to uphold Christ as Friend and Lord and endeavor to lead students to a similar understanding.
• c. Assist in maintaining careful records of attendance and scholastic performance in the register and grade book for that purpose; make course outlines and lesson plans as prescribed by the administration.
• d. Assist in maintaining proper control of the students’ behavior in the classroom, school grounds and premises in accordance with the rules and regulations stipulated in the Handbook.
• e. Assist in maintaining neatness and cleanliness in the classroom and school grounds; create visual aids, posters and displays in bulletin boards, thus supporting a positive learning environment; be responsible for janitorial work in and around classroom and undertake supervisory duties at lunch hour, and in other times in rotation with other teachers.
• f. Attend regular staff meetings as scheduled and other meetings and events even after school; join in‑service sessions and workshops in order to maintain or increase his/her level of teaching skills.
• g. Undertake any other duties and responsibilities considered as part of normal load; will work in harmony with school programs and activities outlined in the Staff Handbook/Bulletin, and other directives set forth by the Board and administration.
• h. Regularly attend weekend services and assist in church programs according to talents and abilities. (Sabbath School classes for all ages that need leaders and assistants, Pathfinder Club, youth meetings during the week, door‑to‑door visits, prison ministry, Bible studies, and other outreach as needed…the ministries that can be joined in are extensive and many more could be led by you!)

• Fluency in English
• 1 yr college/university

Baptized Seventh-day Adventist

Dress professionally and appropriately for occasion. Skirts, if worn, should touch knees. Shorts should not be shorter than 2" above the knee and may be worn only on designated occasions. Straps on dresses should completely cover bra and a cardigan or similar clothing should cover shoulders. Shirts and shorts should be worn when swimming. Ladies should wear a one‑piece bathing suit underneath.

Men's shirts with shirttails should be tucked in. Print on clothing should be appropriate for a Christian to wear.

Unacceptable Dress:
No tight or low‑cut clothing is allowed. Neither are sleeveless/sheer blouses or dresses. No low‑rider or baggy pants on men. Please refrain from wearing any jewelry.

May share apartment with other volunteers. Basic housekeeping supplies provided. Volunteer supplies linens and bedding.

Although geographically in Micronesia, Guam is politically a US island. On Guam is the headquarters of our Guam‑Micronesia Mission of Seventh‑day Adventists. Guam Adventist Academy is our PreK‑12th grades day‑school located in the quieter, southern portion of the island.
