Your Qualifications
  • U.S. Medical license (Any state or DC)
  • Degree from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada
    . Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from a Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) approved school of medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) from an American Osteopathic Association (AOA) approved school of osteopathic medicine, or a medical or osteopathy school acceptable to the Surgeon General.
  • Possess a minimum of two years post fellowship experience in interventional radiology within the last three years
    .
  • Have and maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Such certification must be from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Board certified in Radiology and Interventional Radiology by the American Board of Radiologists
  • Internship/Residency:
    Successful completion of an internship and residency program in Diagnostic Radiology and fellowship in Interventional Radiology
    approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association.
  • At least 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting (i.e., a 1‑year internship or the first year of a residency program in a hospital or an institution accredited for such training)
Duties
  • Performs a full range of interventional radiology and diagnostic radiology physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF. Works as both interventional radiologist and diagnostic radiologist within the MTF.
  • Performs or assists in the instruction of other health care professionals within the scope of the clinical privileges or responsibilities. Educates, assists, and informs staff members of the interventional radiology clinic as applicable.
  • Examines, diagnoses, treats, or prescribes courses of treatment within the scope of training, experience, and privileges.
  • Contacts and confers with referring physicians to provide results of abnormal studies and tests. Utilizes specialty-unique imaging technology in the diagnostic evaluation of patients with complex problems using special procedures such as Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and Ultrasound (US).
  • Oversees radiographic examinations, ensuring the correct radiographic procedures are conducted. Evaluates and interprets radiographs within the Department of Radiology in accordance with established principles, practices and ethics of both the medical profession and the American College of Radiology. Determines if cases should be referred to other specialists for review.
  • Performs fluoroscopic and special radiographic procedures to include but not limited to plain film radiography including fluoroscopy, US, MRI, Interventional, IVP's, Angiography, CT, and Pediatric Radiology.
  • Performs medium and high risk invasive surgical procedures for vascular and interventional radiology.
  • Admits patients to the hospital as appropriate. Provides inpatient follow-up to include chart review, progress notes and discharge as needed.
  • Orders diagnostic tests as applicable as well as requests consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.
  • Full Technical proficiency in directing and teaching other medical staff, providing educational lectures and participating in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members. Such direction and interaction will adhere to Government and professional clinical standards and accepted clinical protocols.
  • Responds to Emergency Consultations for Interventional Radiology within one (1) hour
