Technician, HVAC (Looking to fill immediately) ($10,000 hiring bonus)
Hiring Bonus: $10,000 paid in a one‑time occurrence over 12 months.
Job SummaryPerforms various technical tasks related to the maintenance and repair of heating, cooling and related mechanical systems, controls and equipment. Will obtain at time of hire or within 1 year of hire a CFC Certification and within 2 years an HVAC certificate or diploma.
Responsibilities- Repairs college‑owned air conditioning and heating units.
- Performs general and preventative maintenance deemed necessary by the Coordinator of Maintenance Operations.
- Investigates problems and performs repairs on various heating, cooling and ventilation equipment.
- Locates and repairs electrical system failures in heating and cooling systems.
- Monitors the performance of the heating and cooling system.
- Complies with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety protocols and maintaining a clean work area.
- Maintains a CFC Certification.
- Works with other trades in maintenance to complete team tasks.
- Possible after‑hours work in emergency situations; works with control contractor to maintain calibration of college equipment.
- Contributes to the College Vision, Mission, Values, and RISE statement.
- Supports workforce diversity in all its aspects.
- Other duties as assigned.
- HVAC Certificate or Diploma (must obtain within two years of hire).
- Zero to one year of full‑time or equivalent experience working in commercial HVAC.
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
- CFC Certification (must obtain within one year of hire).
- Associate’s degree.
- Three years of full‑time or equivalent experience working in commercial HVAC.
- Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language.
Schedule:
12 months, standard, Monday‑Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., 40 hrs per week.

If selected for hire, official sealed transcripts from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education are required to be received a minimum of two business weeks before the first day of work.
4. Transcripts outside of the United States must be accompanied by an evaluation completed by a NACES recognized agency and received by Human Resources at least two weeks prior to the first day of work. Failure to comply may result in the withdrawal of the job offer.

Salaryand Compensation
Salary range: $42,576 – $45,216. Total compensation includes a 24.67% employer contribution to a defined pension plan, contributions toward medical and dental policies, and fully funded life insurance/accidental death & dismemberment policy. Benefits represent nearly 30% of total compensation.
