Job Description - Data Systems & Automation Manager

Hiring:
Data Systems & Automation Manager

Role: Mission, Outcomes, Competencies, Requirements

Begin application

Your mission:

Own Jucebox's data infrastructure—Supabase databases, n8n automations, and AI-powered systems to drive data accuracy, intelligent automation, and operational efficiency across all departments.

You will maintain and extend our centralized data architecture, build reliable integration pipelines, and ensure AI systems (Jugo and RETA) have access to accurate, timely data. Your work directly powers the internal command center (Jugo) that leadership uses to run the business and the advisor-facing AI copilot (RETA) that serves our clients.

This role is ideal for someone who has outgrown spreadsheets, discovered the power of relational databases, and now uses AI tools to build and iterate faster than ever before. You'll inherit a foundation that's already in motion—Supabase schemas deployed, n8n workflows running, integrations mapped—and take ownership of making it production-grade and scalable.

Outcomes:

This role is designed to deliver clear, measurable improvements to Jucebox’s data infrastructure, automation reliability, and decision-making capabilities. Success in this role means transforming fragmented data into a centralized, production-grade database system that supports operations, leadership reporting, and AI-powered products. The Data Systems & Automation Manager will ensure that data is accurate, secure, scalable, and trusted across the organization.

Owning and documenting the company’s end-to-end data architecture

Leading the transition from spreadsheet-based systems to centralized databases

Mapping, maintaining, and optimizing data sources and automated workflows

Ensuring data accuracy and enforcing a single source of truth

Designing scalable data models that support operations and reporting

Building and maintaining automation pipelines using APIs and no/low-code tools

Supporting internal tools and AI systems with secure, performant, and well-structured data

Managing data storage, historical records, and automated pipelines for long-term use

Powering accurate KPI dashboards and leadership reporting from database-driven views

Troubleshooting complex data issues and implementing durable, long-term solutions

Competencies:

To succeed in this role, the Data Systems & Automation Manager must demonstrate deep technical ownership of database-driven systems, paired with disciplined systems thinking and high operational standards. This role requires someone who builds durable infrastructure, anticipates failure modes, and treats data reliability as a core business responsibility. Clear judgment, precision, and a builder’s mindset are essential, as these systems directly power leadership decisions and AI-enabled products.

Database Architecture & Design – Designs normalized, scalable relational schemas that support real operational and application use cases.

End-to-End Systems Ownership – Owns data systems from source integrations through automation pipelines into databases and reporting layers.

Reliability & Monitoring Mindset – Thinks in terms of failure modes, alerts, SLAs, and durability—not just “happy path” functionality.

Automation as Infrastructure – Treats automation workflows as production systems, not one-off scripts, with documentation and ownership.

AI-Assisted Builder – Uses AI tools to accelerate SQL, automation, and documentation work while maintaining full accountability for correctness.

Root-Cause Problem Solver – Diagnoses issues at the system level and implements fixes that prevent recurrence.

Clear Technical Communicator – Explains complex data systems clearly to non-technical stakeholders and documents decisions for future maintainability.

High Standards Operator – Holds a high bar for data accuracy, security, and system performance at all times.

Requirements:

Production Database Ownership – Proven experience owning and operating production relational databases (Postgre

SQL or equivalent), including schema design, query optimization, and access control.

Supabase or Equivalent ExperienceHands-on experience with Supabase or…
