**** Department Overview
** Shape the Future of Rakuten's Users Experience through recommendation.  Recommendation Department is seeking a passionate Product Manager to join our team based in Tokyo. The team, in the core of Rakuten’s AI division, holds a platform powering personalized recommendation experiences across Rakuten's diverse ecosystem of services through state-of-the-art AI algorithms, impacting millions of users daily. We are looking for a data-driven product manager with a passion for recommendation systems and a proven track record of delivering impactful products.

** Position Details
** As a Product Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our recommendation and personalization capabilities. You will be responsible for driving the product roadmap, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful adoption of our platform across Rakuten's various business units. You will be at the forefront of leveraging data and technology to create personalized recommendation experiences that delight our users and drive business growth.
Your Mission  - Drive Product Vision & Strategy:
Contribute to the overall product roadmap for the recommendation and personalization platform, aligning with Rakuten's strategic objectives.  - Deep Dive into Data:
Develop a deep understanding of data processing pipelines and algorithms to identify opportunities to connect user needs and pain points with innovative product improvements.  - Unlock Business Value:
Spearhead the rollout of existing platform features to various business units, translating technical capabilities into tangible business impact and revenue growth.  - Collaborate & Influence:
Work closely with internal Business Units (BUs) across Rakuten Group to understand their specific needs and challenges, and collaborate on solutions that leverage the recommendation platform. Proactively address UI/UX limitations to enhance the user experience.  - Support and Leverage Technical effort:
Collaborate with engineering, data science, and design teams to define clear and concise product specifications for company-wide, cross-functional projects. Communicate actively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.  - Champion Adoption:
Actively promote the adoption of the recommendation platform within internal BUs, demonstrating its value and driving its integration into their businesses.
** Mandatory

Qualifications:

**- Bachelor's degree or above in Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or business related field.  - 3+ years of experience in technical product management.  - 2+ years of experience managing products from feature conception to successful service launch.  - Excellent communication skills.  - Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.  - Business-level proficiency or above in both English and Japanese.

** Desired

Qualifications:

**- Experience working with products using machine learning and deep learning.  - Experience working with cross-border team.  - Experience in web tracking and data analytics.  - Excellent presentation, product narrative and negotiation skills.  #engineer #product manager #technologyservicediv
