Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday; 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional evening hours. Driving Status:
Primary (25% or more).

The Co-Responder program collaborates with local law enforcement to provide crisis intervention by the right person at the right time. This position will remain open until filled.

Job Description / Responsibilities
  • Provides clinical oversight of co-responders and conducts regular supervision to oversee day-to-day provision of clinical services.
  • Trains co-responders in crisis intervention, suicide prevention, care coordination, and related tasks.
  • Attends group consultation meetings to problem solve and provide consultation.
  • Responds to client or collateral complaints regarding service delivery.
  • Participates in the planning, management, and administration of multiple programs.
  • Attends management meetings to identify goals and methods for effective program operation.
  • Attends occasional state meetings and trainings to stay aligned with state expectations and standards of care.
  • Facilitates team meetings to ensure program consistency in approach and community support.
  • Provides orientation of new staff to services and Johnson County Mental Health Center policies and procedures.
  • Monitors quantity and quality of work performance by co-responders and provides routine feedback.
  • Addresses staff performance issues until resolved.
  • Completes yearly evaluations of staff and makes pay increase recommendations.
  • Identifies and addresses barriers to service delivery at staff, program, and community levels.
  • Fosters positive working relationships within the team, program, agency, and community.
  • Participates in leadership meetings and maintains awareness of the overall scope of Mental Health Center programs.
  • Develops liaison relationships with community agencies to coordinate programs with relevant organizations.
  • Helps develop local community teams and volunteers for additional tasks and special projects.
  • Ensures documentation adheres to Center and State guidelines and regularly reviews staff written work via chart reviews.
  • Addresses discrepancies in written documentation and timeliness.
Qualifications / Requirements

Master's degree in Social Work or related field. Kansas BSRB license at the Master’s level (LMSW, LPC, LMFT, LMLP). At least one year leading, directing, supervising, or coordinating the work of others; three years of clinical experience; one year of experience in a community-based service environment; and a valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.

Applicants who meet Kansas licensure requirements may be considered if licensure is obtained by time of employment offer and licensure is pending confirmation at the time of application.
