Accounting Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team in Mission, Kansas. This long-term contract position offers an opportunity to manage critical financial tasks, including account reconciliation and vendor credit tracking, in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates will thrive in a focused work setting and excel in handling detailed financial processes.

Responsibilities:

- Perform monthly financial closings to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

- Support accounts payable operations, including tracking and reconciling vendor credits.

- Conduct daily bank reconciliations across multiple accounts to maintain financial accuracy.

- Manage intercompany transactions efficiently and resolve discrepancies.

- Clean up and organize accounting records during the transition from Quick Books desktop to Quick Books online.

- Utilize Excel functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUPs to analyze financial data.

- Assist with the conversion of hotel and property management systems from Sage 300 to Net Suite.

- Maintain detailed and organized records of all financial transactions.

- Collaborate with team members to address financial inquiries and provide solutions.

- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards in all accounting activities. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

- Strong ability to perform account reconciliations with attention to detail.

- Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP formulas.

- Familiarity with Quick Books Online and experience transitioning from desktop versions.

- Knowledge of intercompany transactions and related accounting practices.

- Experience with financial system conversions, particularly Sage 300 to Net Suite, is a plus.

- Capability to work independently in a quiet, focused office environment.

- Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle high-volume financial tasks.
