2 positions are available at $4,000/year.

  • Position #1 is a fully funded scholarship of $4,000 for the year ($2,000 per semester).
  • Position #2 is a blended award of $4,000 for the year (i.e., one semester will be funded as a $2,000 scholarship; one semester will be funded at $2,000 in student employment).

Position Summary

A Bilingual Campus Ministry Assistant serves as a Peer Ministry Intern (PMI) within the University Mission and Ministry (UMM), Office of Campus Ministry, to articulate the mission of the division by engaging university life through prayer, liturgy, outreach, faith development, and pastoral care. Together with the Director of Campus Ministry, student peer ministers seek to extend an invitation to all students, faculty, and staff to explore formative issues of faith, values, and purpose.

This is done through a Catholic ministry that welcomes all. The main focus of Catholic Student Group is to build a community in which an individual can grow in relationship with Christ. The Bilingual Campus Ministry Assistant reports to the Director of Campus Ministry.

Essential Functions
  • Oversee, participate in and engage others to participate in (such as, but not limited to) evangelization efforts, bible studies, faith formation (OCIA), retreat camps, community nights, Adoration & Mass, daily Mass, Men’s and Women’s Groups and other programs planned by the Office of Campus Ministry.
  • Coordinate and lead at least one ministry initiative already established or in new one in coordination with supervisor Director of Campus Ministry.
  • Meet weekly with the assigned ministries days/times assigned by the Director of Campus Ministry.
  • Meet regularly with the Director of Campus Ministry for mentoring, and guidance.
  • Maintain different ministry records with updates, schedules, and resources to be passed on each year.
  • Collaborate with other administrative areas assigned by the Director of Campus Ministry.
  • Attend area and divisional formation sessions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Fully Bilingual (English and Spanish) required.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Formation and active participation as a Catholic, in prayer and personal spirituality.
  • Knowledge and experience of Catholic Christian traditions, prayer experiences, music, and topics relevant to being a young adult.
  • Ability to speak in public settings.
  • Ability to lead small and large group activities.
  • Basic knowledge of Catholic Church doctrine, Scriptures, the Sacraments, and morality. Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Required Education

Current UIW undergraduate student.

Required Work Experience

Previous participation in ministry as a volunteer, part‑time, or full‑time capacity at a church, school, or institution leading youth group activities such as retreats, faith sharing groups, Bible studies, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Forms, Teams, Notebook, One Drive, etc.), Canva, and Social Media Platforms (Facebook and Instagram).

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations

Confirmed in the Catholic Christian Tradition.

Work Hours

Twelve (12) hours per week to include Wednesday afternoon/night programming and otherwise flexible schedule; some evenings and weekends.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift and/or move at least 10 lbs.
