Join MAHUBE‑OTWA as a Preschool Teacher in our Head Start Program. We seek caring individuals with strong independent initiative and experience implementing developmentally appropriate practices in early childhood development. Your workdays will be filled with educating young minds, laughter, art, stories, hugs, and a sense of accomplishment.

Responsibilities:
Implement an inclusive curriculum that supports children’s development based on individual needs. Provide a daily routine and prepare a weekly lesson plan that incorporates all required elements.

• Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or equivalent coursework and experience in the early childhood field, or a current teaching license, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of early childhood development and ability to implement developmentally appropriate practice in an early childhood classroom is essential.
• Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and DHS licensing regulations and ability to operate the center in accordance with standards.
• Must work positively and cooperatively with children, families, staff, and internal and external partners.
• Must effectively manage typical and spontaneous classroom situations and handle emergency situations with young children and families.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills.
• Basic computer skills, including e‑mail, internet, data entry, file and database management.
• Must honor private/confidential information.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• First Aid/CPR required.
• Must qualify to work with young children through DHS Net Study clearance.
