Coordinator, Work-Based Learning & Apprenticeships
The Coordinator is responsible for building and managing work‑based learning (WBL) opportunities, including internships, pre‑apprenticeships and apprenticeships, for students in the Western North Carolina region. The role requires strong community partnership skills, data management, team supervision and public engagement.
Responsibilities- Maintain an updated database of industry partners, site access and digital WBL forms.
- Represent the WBL department at local events, panels and community meetings.
- Market and recruit students and industry partners through career fairs, open houses and on‑site visits.
- Coordinate and launch grant activities, student outreach and data needs for all WBL grants.
- Supervise Specialists, conduct performance evaluations, schedule work and communicate expectations.
- Contribute to the college vision, mission, values and RISE statement.
- Support workforce diversity initiatives and collaborate with school counselors, career coaches and other staff to ensure meaningful WBL activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree.
- Two years of full‑time or equivalent experience building strong relationships with community employers and groups.
- One year of full‑time or equivalent experience within a collegiate system or a K‑12 environment.
- One year of full‑time or equivalent experience working with students.
- One year of full‑time or equivalent experience working with data systems.
- One year of full‑time or equivalent experience coordinating projects.
- Experience with Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Two years of full‑time or equivalent direct supervisory experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, business, vocational services or related field.
- One year of experience working within the NCCCS system.
- One year of experience working with students with diverse needs.
- One year of experience with apprenticeships or other WBL programs.
- One year of experience giving presentations.
- Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language or American Sign Language.

Transcripts outside the United States must include an evaluation from a NACES‑recognized agency and be received at least two weeks prior to the first day of work. Failure to comply may result in the withdrawal of the job offer.
