- Official sealed transcripts from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education are required to be received a minimum of two business weeks before the first day of work.

Hiring Bonus (one-time): $9,000 – payable as $1,000 per month contract month (9 months) during the first year of employment.
Retention Bonus (reoccurring): $4,000 – payable as $2,000 each May and $2,000 each December.
This position provides instruction in Emergency Medical Science and advising for students pursuing the Associate of Emergency Medical Science.
Duties- Maintains mastery of subject matter.
- Develops and/or teaches courses for which the appropriate credential is held.
- Teaches in various formats, various locations, and via various delivery methods.
- Adheres to policies, procedures, expectations, and practices.
- Communicates clearly with students, other faculty, and staff.
- Contributes to a safe and secure campus environment.
- Enforces Code of Classroom Conduct and Code of Student Conduct.
- Assists with program reviews, program accreditation, and SACSCOC accreditation as appropriate.
- Attends meetings and events and actively participates on committees and taskforces.
- Attends the annual commencement ceremony.
- Upholds the College Vision, Mission, Values, and RISE statement.
- Supports diversity in all aspects.
- Establishes or upholds learning outcomes that are relevant and meaningful.
- Evaluates student progress in a fair, consistent, and timely manner.
- Develops, prepares, and/or delivers all levels of curriculum courses.
- Completes required professional development annually.
- Maintains professional certifications.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree in Emergency Medical Science.
- One year of full-time or equivalent field experience in advanced EMS instruction.
- One year of full-time or equivalent experience as a Paramedic at an EMS agency.
- NCOEMS Paramedic, NCOEMS Level I Paramedic Instructor (or obtain in the first 8 months of employment).
- BCLS –I, ACLS –I, PALS –I (or obtain in the first 6 months of employment).
- Bachelor’s degree in EMS or Nursing.
- Experience teaching at a North Carolina community college.
- Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language.

Salary and BenefitsAnnual Salary Range: $43,722 – $48,573. Total compensation including benefits: $66,501 – $72,913.
Benefits include: 24.04% employer contribution to a defined pension plan, contributions to medical and dental policies, and fully funded life insurance and accidental death & dismemberment policy.
