Full-Time Circulation Library Assistant Position Available

Are you a people person and enjoy working with the public?

The Morristown & Morris Township Library is seeking a friendly, customer service-oriented person to join our creative and dedicated staff as a Library Assistant in the Circulation Department. The person in this position helps patrons at our Circulation desk with checking out Library materials, signing up patrons for their library cards, aiding patrons with their accounts, answering the telephone, running various reports through our online catalog system, unpacking and packing materials for delivery to other libraries, emptying the book drops and other tasks.

New ideas are always welcome and staff in the Circulation Department also work on projects such as some evening programming, welcome packets, fliers and other creative tasks. We like a person who can work independently, but also work as a part of a great team here at the Library.

Our Library is located in the heart of historic Morristown near many cultural and historical attractions and a wide array of dining and nightlife. As a result, the Library receives many visitors, and we have active participation with our residents and local businesses, both in person and virtually.

What is the Library looking for in a candidate?

This is a full-time position, 35 hours per week that includes some evenings and weekends. The salary is $34,500 and includes some special adult programming coverage. The position includes a pension plan (plus optional 403b), great vacation benefits, great health insurance coverage and an optional dental plan.
