Position SummaryThe KUIW Student Radio Officer (MD) oversees all aspects of on-air programming and content. The KUIW Student Radio Officer (MD) reports to University Faculty.
Essential Functions- Program and manage all music, bumps, station ids, and specialty content on-air and enforcing the KUIW music policy.
- Trains and advises on-air hosts, screens (and cleans) music, creates new content for on-air, and schedules weekly / monthly on-air playlists in Megaseg.
- Keeps all the categories in Mega Seg organized and maintains all PSAs.
- DJs on-campus events.
- Works closely with the Program Director to ensure that KUIW is broadcasting and streaming at all times.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Basic Computer Skills.
- Ability to create graphics.
- Ability to manage website and curate content.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Current full-time UIW Communication Arts student
Required Work ExperienceNone.
Preferred QualificationsSuccessful completion of COMM 3390 Radio Practicum.
Required Certifications, Licenses or RegistrationsNone.
Work Hours- Monday through Friday up to 20 hours per week.
- Weekends and evenings for special events as needed.
Lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to assemble and disassemble DJ equipment. Ability to move about campus.
