Job Description

GSL are looking for enthusiastic and empathetic disability support workers with experience in complex physical and mental care needsto:

Provide direct care and supervision to young people in a residential setting.

Develop and implementindividualisedcare plans.

Assist with daily activities, support their understanding of self-care, education, and recreational activities.

Promote a safe and positive living environment.

Build trusting relationships with young people, offering emotional support and guidance.

Maintainaccuraterecords and documentation.

Be a positive role model and allow children to feel safe, buildresilienceand work towards positive future outcomes.

Where appropriate provide more complex support to high needs clients because you have a good understanding of disability and intellectual impairment

Facilitate community participation and social support and engagement because all our clients deserve to have a good life just like everyone else

A knack for de-escalating situations with a mix of skill, understanding, and well-timed humor.

LCS2 or ability to obtain

Unrestricted driver licence

A minimum Certificate IV qualification in Disability Support, Youth Work, or a related field (or currently working towards one).
