Remote Part-time, Remote Community Engagement

About This Role

The Nexus Community Manager is responsible for leading and activating the Nexus hub within their city through structured, high-quality community events and local engagement initiatives. The Nexus Community by Workium is a migration-focused ecosystem designed to connect ambitious professionals with verified relocation pathways, open job opportunities across Europe, visa insights, documentation support, and expert guidance. Nexus operates through local city hubs, providing members with access to trusted migration information, structured events, peer support, and direct opportunities without reliance on third-party agencies.

This is a performance-based, event-driven role. The Community Manager will plan, coordinate, execute, and report on Nexus events within their city. The role requires strong local networking ability, event execution skills, trust-building capacity, and alignment with Workium's migration mission.

Responsibilities
  • Event Planning and Execution:
  • • Develop a proposed monthly or quarterly event calendar for approval
  • • Coordinate venues (physical or hybrid)
  • • Organize speakers in collaboration with central team
  • • Promote events locally and manage registrations
  • • Host and facilitate events professionally
  • • Capture attendance data and feedback
  • • Submit post-event reports within required timelines
  • Event Types May Include:
  • • Migration information sessions
  • • Visa and appointment insight briefings
  • • European job opportunity sessions
  • • Documentation and compliance workshops
  • • Success story panels
  • • Networking meetups for aspiring migrants
  • Local Community Development:
  • • Recruit new members through events and local outreach
  • • Build relationships with local universities, professional groups, and associations
  • • Foster a positive, supportive environment within the city hub
  • Digital Community Management:
  • • Manage the city's Nexus Whats App/Slack/Linked In group
  • • Share verified updates received from the national team
  • • Moderate discussions to prevent misinformation
  • • Escalate complex migration-related inquiries to the central team
  • Brand Representation:
  • • Avoid making unverified claims or promises
  • • Share only approved communication materials
  • • Protect the integrity and credibility of Nexus
  • Reporting:
  • • Submit attendance numbers and registration vs turnout data after each event
  • • Provide member feedback and engagement metrics
  • • Document partnership leads generated and observations
Requirements
  • Minimum 2–4 years experience in community management, events coordination, or partnership development
  • Strong event planning and logistics management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Comfortable speaking and facilitating discussions in group settings
  • Strong local professional network
  • High integrity and professionalism
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in migration, education consulting, HR, recruitment, or international career development
  • Experience running paid or structured professional communities
  • Strong understanding of the local city's professional ecosystem
