Position Title: STAR—Student Trained in Advising & Registration

Position SummaryUniversity Advising Center, STARs (Student Trained in Advising & Registration) will assist their supervisor in supporting students with questions related to advising and registration resources, events and deadlines. In addition, STARs will aid in preparation and/or notation of advising appointments, and other office duties. This position will report to the Administrative Assistant and Director of the University Advising Center.
This is a student position open to current UIW students who may be hired through the Federal Work-Study Program or student employment.
Essential Functions- Assist with daily office operations as determined by supervisor.
- Assist with clerical duties, answering phones, and front desk coverage.
- Provide timely and accurate information about UIW advising services to callers and office visitors with a focus on customer service.
- Support advising virtual attendance and maintains spreadsheet of visitors.
- Maintain office tasks such as filing, organizing, shredding, mail pick-up and running office errands.
- Communicate at a high-level both verbally and in writing.
- Commitment to deadlines and complete projects (ex: develop power point, fliers, promotional materials) on time.
- Maintain strict adherence to records, privacy, FERPA regulations and confidentiality.
- Assist with special events and orientations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Current UIW student with a 2.5 GPA (or higher)
Required Work ExperienceNo experience required.
Preferred QualificationsKnowledgeable in Canva and social media platforms
Required Certifications, Licenses or RegistrationsNone.
Work HoursVariable hours;
Monday through Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
10-20 hours per week
Physical DemandsAbility to lift up to 20 lbs to move file boxes.
