Support the Finance Department for Senior Persons Living Connected, St. Paul’s L’Amoreaux Centre and St. Paul’s Terrace Seniors Residence in all areas including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, deposits, petty cash, and year-end reporting.
Responsibilities- Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure all proper deductions and contributions are processed accurately.
- Respond to employee and government payroll inquiries.
- Prepare customized reports such as ROEs and T4s.
- Process EHT, WSIB monthly filing and annual returns.
- Prepare payroll journals and post in accounting software.
- Reconcile payroll balance sheets accounts monthly.
- Prepare bank reconciliations monthly.
- Collect client payments as required and ensure security during vacation coverage.
- Prepare bank deposit for cash and cheques received weekly or as required.
- Suggest, create and implement value-added changes in finance and other areas.
- Contribute to client safety by ensuring timeliness, appropriateness, quality and security of communications, cash and administration.
- Completion of Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in Business, Finance or Accounting.
- Three to four years full cycle accounting experience.
- Six months to one year of payroll experience.
- Experience using payroll and accounting systems such as ACCPAC, Great Plains, Quadrant HR, or Quick Books software.
- Must be flexible with hours and can work occasional additional hours when required to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to speak a second language is an asset.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Advanced Excel skills.
- Vulnerable Sector screening required.
- Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or medical exception.
