Registered Nurse; RN – SICU; Night

Overview

Registered Nurse (RN) – SICU (Full Time Night) in Mission Viejo, California. The Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) is a 20-bed critical care unit providing care for the most complex and critically ill patients. The unit specializes in neurocritical care, traumatic brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injuries, complex trauma and post-operative patients, medical ICU including respiratory failure, sepsis, and multi-organ dysfunction.

Located within a Level II Trauma Center and a Comprehensive Stroke Center.

• Deliver direct patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity ICU environment
• Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to implement care plans
• Administer medications, manage advanced life-support equipment, and perform critical interventions
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
• Educate patients and families about care processes and recovery expectations
• Comply with all hospital, state, and federal policies and procedures

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program
• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License upon hire
• Current BLS Certification (American Heart Association) upon hire
• Current ACLS Certification (American Heart Association) upon hire
• Minimum 1 year recent ICU nursing experience in an acute care hospital (student/clinical hours not applicable)

• At least 1 year of recent SICU or ICU experience in an acute hospital setting
• Strong understanding of trauma, neurocritical care, and surgical patient management
• Comfortable working with ventilators, invasive monitoring, and high-risk medications
• Team-oriented with excellent communication and collaboration skills
