Role:
Multi-Unit Team Leader. You’ll provide leadership over three H&R Block tax offices, guiding customer-centric teams to accelerate seasonal tax business. You will act as the front-line manager responsible for leadership and development of associates, delivering an outstanding client experience, and achieving office growth objectives for three tax offices. Prior tax preparation experience is not required. This role starts with a flexible part-time schedule in the fall and transitions to full-time January–April, including evenings and weekends as needed.
This role is in-person and not remote.
- Lead and develop associates across three offices; create and execute office-level growth plans and client growth targets.
- Recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions; conduct timely performance reviews; address performance concerns with appropriate support.
- Build an engaging team environment across all offices through training and coaching; lead daily team meetings.
- Create associate work schedules, ensure accurate timekeeping, and manage labor across multiple offices; travel between offices as required.
- Prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.
- Manage office staffing, operations, and logistics for multiple offices with support from Associate Team Leaders.
- Partner with the District General Manager (DGM) to create and implement office growth plans and client growth targets, including developing local partnerships and managing office community involvement.
- Assist DGM in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions.
- Conduct timely performance reviews and collaborate with Associate Relations Center to address issues and performance concerns.
- Provide training and coaching to recognize outstanding contributions and build an engaging team environment.
- Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates.
- Manage associate schedules and labor across offices, ensuring accurate timekeeping.
- Travel between offices as required.
- Prepare tax returns as needed after completing required tax courses.
- People management experience with demonstrated ability to grow and develop associates.
- Aptitude for executing growth plans and fostering a growth-oriented culture.
- Strong decision-making and judgment skills; able to operate in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-centric mindset.
- Computer proficiency (MS Office).
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or high school diploma with equivalent experience.
- Successful completion of the HR Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns).
