This is an opportunity to build and lead a new energy assessment and optimization practice within an established building technology consulting firm. The role focuses on improving building energy performance for government, education, and institutional clients.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct ASHRAE Level II energy audits at customer facilities
- Evaluate HVAC, lighting, building envelope, controls, and energy usage
- Collect on-site data, interview facility staff, and analyze utility bills
- Identify energy efficiency and cost‑saving opportunities
- Perform energy modeling and develop performance baselines
- Analyze savings, payback, ROI, and emissions reductions
- Assess electrification, renewable energy options, and utility incentives
- Prepare detailed audit reports, implementation roadmaps, and compliance documentation
- Present findings to clients and stakeholders
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or equivalent
- 5+ years of commercial building energy auditing experience
- Proven ASHRAE Level II/III audit experience
- Strong HVAC and energy modeling background
- Experience with tools such as eQUEST or Energy Plus
- Excellent technical writing and reporting skills
- PE license, LEED AP, or similar credentials
- Experience with government or grant‑funded projects (DOE/EECBG preferred)
- Knowledge of building electrification, renewables, and California Title 24
- Familiarity with ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager and advanced energy tools
