Lead with Vision. Serve with Purpose. Transform Lives.

LOVE IS THE WAY to restoration, hope, and recovery. Since 1941, Scott Mission has been responding to the needs of individuals and families who face hunger and homelessness— offering practical, emotional, and spiritual support to love their neighbours across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

About Scott Mission Vision Prayer

Poverty in full retreat, flourishing for all, in Toronto and beyond.

Mission

Scott Mission supports and equips those who experience poverty to transition to a life of fullness in themselves, in their community, and in their Creator. To do so, they provide immediate and long-term resources that offer hope, healing, and transformation, while influencing, mobilizing, and supporting partners to work together towards this transformation.

How they Serve

Scott Mission serves those in need with love, dignity, and respect through a range of programs, including:

  • Clothing & Food Bank
  • Weekday Meal Provision
  • Family Services
  • Counseling
  • Medical Aid
  • Summer Camp
The Opportunity

Scott Mission is seeking a Director of Ministry who brings spiritual maturity and strategic leadership to champion a deeply Christ-centered culture across every program and team.

Blending pastoral care with executive-level program leadership, this role equips staff, strengthens church partnerships, and ensures evangelism, discipleship, and prayer are meaningfully integrated into holistic, transformational support for vulnerable communities.

With direct oversight to 4-5 staff (Camp Director, Daycare Manager, Program Manager, Manager of Program Development, and potentially another Manager), indirect oversight to front line workers across the Greater Toronto Area, a $3.5 million budget, and a seat on the Leadership Team, this role is a trusted spiritual voice and organizational architect that works closely with other senior leaders to advance innovation, accountability, and mission alignment—helping Scott Mission deliver life-changing impact with excellence and faithfulness.

Responsibilities
  • Lead with a vibrant, authentic faith in Jesus, embodying the Christ-centered vision and mission of Scott Mission in both character and conduct.
  • Champion the integration of evangelism, discipleship, and prayer across every ministry location, ensuring faith is not peripheral but foundational.
  • Provide thoughtful pastoral care and spiritual guidance to staff, volunteers, residents, and community members.
  • Cultivate a thriving culture of spiritual formation through teaching, retreats, prayer gatherings, and intentional discipleship initiatives.
  • Serve as a primary voice at enterprise-wide gatherings, bringing clear, compelling, and biblically grounded teaching to staff and community audiences.
Program Leadership & Strategic Alignment
  • Oversee a unified portfolio of transformational ministry programs aligned to Scott Mission’s Strategic Plan and holistic model of care.
  • Drive measurable impact by establishing clear objectives, dashboards, and data-informed evaluation processes that strengthen program effectiveness.
  • Design and advance a compelling pathway to residential recovery —including transitional housing and Christ-centered supports—that fosters long-term transformation.
  • Partner closely with Marketing & Philanthropy by delivering timely impact reporting that fuels aligned, revenue-generating initiatives.
  • Steward financial resources with integrity by developing and managing an annual budget that reflects excellence and accountability.
  • Build, lead, and scale high-performing teams marked by humility, accountability, collaboration, and results.
  • Set clear goals and performance metrics that inspire continuous improvement and mission-aligned outcomes.
  • Align team structures and staffing models to support strategic priorities and sustainable growth.
  • Foster transparent, cross-functional communication that strengthens unity and enterprise-wide effectiveness.
Church & Community Engagement
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships with local churches and denominational leaders to deepen engagement and shared mission impact.
  • Represent Scott Mission with credibility and spiritual leadership at churches, public forums, and community…
