Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will participate in working with a growing and highly motivated team in a fast‑paced environment.

• Carrying out duties assigned by the maintenance supervisor
• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot and repair sawmill equipment
• Machine, fabricate, and modify parts using lathes, milling, grinding and welding equipment
• Perform precision measurements and alignment of shafts, bearings, gears and cutting assemblies
• Read and comprehend manuals, and work orders
• Diagnose mechanical failures and determine corrective actions
• Work closely with Millwrights, electricians, operators and supervisors
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
• Follow all lockout/tagout safety regulations
• Keep machine shop, tools and work area clean and organized
• Adapt to changing priorities and working conditions
• Lead problem‑solving initiatives
• Work in team environment

• High School diploma (grade 12) or equivalent; technical or trade school training preferred
• Journeyman machinist certification
• 3‑5 years experience as a machinist, ideally in a sawmill or heavy industrial environment
• Strong knowledge of industrial machinery
• Welding and fabrication skills (MIG, TIG, Stick preferred)
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Good safety and attendance record
• Detail oriented with the ability to follow exact procedures
• Highly motivated team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
