General Dynamics Mission Systems International (GDMS-I) is a trusted partner to the Canadian Armed Forces and allied defence organizations, delivering mission-critical solutions across land, sea, air, and cyber domains. With deep expertise in defence electronics, secure communications, command and control, and integrated mission systems, GDMS plays a vital role in enabling operational superiority, national security, and allied defence readiness.
It is within this context that GDMS-I is seeking a Chief Digital & Information Officer (CDIO) to lead the evolution of its internal digital, information, and cybersecurity capabilities as a strategic enabler of mission delivery. Reporting to the Vice President & General Manager, Mission Systems International as well as the Vice President, Information Technology and CIO of General Dynamics Mission Systems (US), the CDIO will be responsible for shaping and executing the enterprise digital and information strategy for GDMS-I.
The CDIO will lead the modernization, security, and performance of all internal IT and digital platforms, ensuring they directly support program execution, regulatory compliance, and long-term business objectives. This leader will balance strategic transformation with operational excellence in an environment where security, availability, and compliance are non-negotiable.
Serving as a member of the GDMS-I Executive Leadership Team, the CDIO will translate business, program, and operational requirements into secure, resilient, and scalable digital and information technology solutions. This leader will partner closely with executive stakeholders across engineering, programs, and operations, ensuring that digital strategy, cybersecurity, and enterprise platforms directly enable mission delivery, regulatory compliance, and long-term business objectives.
As an ideal candidate, you bring deep executive IT leadership experience, with a proven ability to lead large, distributed teams in complex, highly regulated environments. You have successfully delivered enterprise-scale digital transformations, modernizing core platforms and networks while maintaining operational resilience, security, and compliance. Your background includes accountability for significant budgets, global service delivery, and strategic vendor partnerships, coupled with experience operating in security-sensitive sectors such as defence, aerospace, or similarly regulated industries.
You are a trusted advisor who bridges technology and business, translating complex requirements into secure, scalable solutions that drive measurable outcomes. You bring strong strategic insight into modern digital and cloud technologies, cybersecurity and regulatory frameworks, and emerging capabilities such as data, automation, and AI. Finally, your leadership is grounded in a solid technical education, with advanced credentials and certifications considered an asset.
This is a rare opportunity to lead the enterprise digital and information function of one of Canada’s and the United Kingdom’s most important defence technology organizations. We invite accomplished senior technology leaders with experience in complex, regulated, and security-sensitive environments to explore this opportunity.
