2nd Shift Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

Performs work involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of the facility in repair. Duties may involve pipe fitting, boiler making, insulating, welding, machining, carpentry, repairing electrical or mechanical equipment, installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment, and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs.

Pay

$28 - $32 USD/hr (Based on Experience)

Responsibilities
  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to keep machines running smoothly, building systems operating efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings from deteriorating.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts, use hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms.
  • Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment.
  • Comply with legal environmental and safety requirements.
  • Know the environmental aspects of the area and its control, and the environmental impacts associated with activities.
  • Follow all Environmental and Safety policies and procedures, regulations, and instructions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Strong technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, heating, etc.)
  • Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations
  • Excellent planning and leadership abilities
  • Eye for detail
  • Computer savvy; information technology training a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High school diploma (degree from a vocational school is a plus)
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CMRP or HVAC certified) are preferred
Physical Demands
  • May require periods of intense physical exertion in conditions of low to high temperatures and humidity.
  • Requires the ability to stand, bend, and stretch for extended periods during a normal work shift.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
Schedule
  • Monday through Thursday
  • 3:30 pm – 4 am
  • Flexibility is a must – hours subject to change based on production schedule
