- Responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of the Agency’s quality assurance program, patient medical record, and infection control program.
- Supervision of employees within the QA Department.
- Accountable for the coordination and completion of quarterly chart audits.
- Oversees the audit process for regulatory and Agency compliance.
- Identifies problematic areas, evaluates, and implements resolve through the QAPI process.
- Assists the Documentation Nurse as needed.
- Responsible for OBQI and OBQM reports.
- Participates in the nursing leadership on call rotation schedule related to clinical issues.
- Ensures accuracy of content of patient medical records.
- Obtains information for regulatory surveys and ADR requests.
- Supports the Agency through any State and Federal Survey processes.
- Maintains accuracy and revisions of clinical forms as necessary.
- Responsible for and ensures OASIS compliance.
- Oversees the review, correction, and transmission of OASIS information.
- Coordinates storage and destruction of confidential documents.
- Responsible for maintaining and tracking employee exposure occurrences and ensuring appropriate employee health and OSHA records are maintained.
- Responsible for review and update of the Exposure Control Plan at least annually, and whenever necessary to include new or modified tasks and procedures.
- Facilitates Agency infection control efforts through the Infection Control and QAPI processes.
- Participates in the selection, hiring, and termination of staff.
- Demonstrates support for Agency policies and ensures staff compliance.
- Maintains knowledge on state and federal rules and regulations.
- Conducts department meetings.
- Supervises employees by maintaining performance notes, giving required performance evaluations on a timely basis, and initiating progressive disciplinary action as needed.
- Committed to Agency resolution against fraud and abuse.
- Knowledgeable in hospice philosophy and state and federal rules and regulations.
- Arrives to work and meetings on time and ready to work.
- Respects confidentiality of patients/families and other Agency employees.
- Attends educational meetings/conferences for professional growth as required.
- Sees change as an opportunity and maintains a level of flexibility, which allows for adaptation to new ways of performing.
- Follows directions and policies that allow for an organizational commitment to working under time pressures without sacrificing quality.
- Performs other duties that may be assigned.
Possess the following abilities:
- Speak in ordinary conversational tones utilizing the English/American language
- Hear ordinary conversations
- See with the visual acuity necessary to perform the Essential Functions listed in this Job Description
- Have simultaneous use of hands, wrists, and fingers (example: writing, typing, data entry)
- Maintains a current driver’s license.
- Maintains current RN licensure in Indiana.
- Minimum of four years experience in quality assurance and certification preferred.
- Experience with OASIS and ICD coding preferred.
- Possesses strong organizational and communication skills.
- Supervisory experience.
