Job Summary
Multi‑Skilled Technician under the supervision of an RN who performs basic patient care activities, including blood glucose measurement, phlebotomy, EKGs, oral‑suctioning and assistance with activities of daily living. The technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized environment, attending required in‑services and fostering a continuous performance‑improvement approach.
Employment TypePart time – 12‑hour day shift – 12 hours per day, 7 days a week.
Key Responsibilities- Perform basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN.
- Take blood glucose measurements and record intake/output.
- Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating).
- Perform ordered EKGs according to policy and documented training.
- Perform phlebotomy duties per policy and documented training.
- Maintain patient rooms clean, stocked, and orderly.
- Attend required in‑services, workshops, retreats, and staff meetings.
- Participate in intradepartmental and interdepartmental performance‑improvement activities.
- Perform other duties consistent with the purpose of the job as directed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, spell English and perform simple arithmetic calculations.
- Previous patient care experience and/or technical education in a health‑related field preferred.
- Success in the initial clinical competency requirements to perform independently.
- CPR certification on hire or able to attain within 60 days.
- Successful completion of EKG and phlebotomy courses upon hire or transfer.
