Overview
LHH is currently seeking a Process Engineer for a well-established manufacturing company in the Greater South Bend area/Michiana region. The ideal candidate will enjoy hands-on process work, elevate technical discipline on the production floor, and support increasingly sophisticated quality standards in a collaborative manufacturing environment.
You will work closely with engineering leadership and cross functional teams, focusing on sampling, process optimization, documentation, and maintaining rigorous quality expectations—particularly as operations move toward precision requirements consistent with medical and defense applications.
Compensation: $90,000–$110,000 annually (may be negotiable based on experience)

- Develop, optimize, and document manufacturing processes.
- Support engineering during design reviews and production launches.
- Run trials, capability studies, and performance analyses to validate improvements.
- Troubleshoot process issues and guide production teams.
- Implement new tooling, equipment, automation, and robotic programming updates.
- Maintain process controls and define parameters for efficient production.
- Train and mentor staff on procedures, equipment, and quality standards.
- Improve layouts, workflows, and overall operational efficiency.
- Assess equipment performance and coordinate upgrades with vendors.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to meet KPIs and ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Strengthen process discipline and support quality systems such as verification, lot tracking, and documentation control.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering strongly preferred
- 5+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing with experience on the production floor
- Strong background in process optimization, sampling, documentation, verification, and quality rigor
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics and diagrams
- Experience monitoring and analyzing production processes and implementing improvements
- Ability to mentor and enhance the skills of existing processing staff
- Experience in a regulated environment such as medical devices, aerospace or automotive manufacturing
