$1,500 Sign-On Bonus! JCC teachers can earn a one-time new hire bonus of $800 at 90 days, and an additional $1,000 after six months in the role.
OverviewThe Lead Preschool Teacher plays a pivotal role in creating a nurturing and educational environment for young children. This role involves leading the development and implementation of weekly curricular plans, overseeing classroom activities, and ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of each child. The Lead Preschool Teacher will also manage the maintenance of the classroom, materials, and equipment while contributing to the overall success of the Early Childhood Program.
GeneralResponsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate curricula in collaboration with the Assistant Teacher.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment where all children feel welcomed and valued.
- Ensure adherence to DHS, NAEYC and Keystone STARS standards and maintain compliance with the JCC Early Childhood Program Handbook.
- Oversee classroom management, including the care of the facility, equipment, and materials.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to curriculum, health and safety procedures, and student progress.
- Communicate effectively with families and participate in regular meetings with the teaching team, Early Childhood Program, and JCC.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Early Childhood Program by evaluating and enhancing classroom activities and procedures.
- Model and promote the JCC’s mission, vision, and Core Values in interactions with children, families, and staff.
- Attend and actively participate in all relevant meetings, training sessions, and events.
- Promote the JCC’s mission, programs, and events to members and the community in a positive and engaging manner.
- Exemplify the JCC’s Core Values through professional conduct and communication.
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field; or an Associate’s degree with significant coursework in Early Childhood Education and relevant experience.
- At least two years of experience working with young children in an educational setting.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members, families, and community stakeholders.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to sit on the floor, bend, squat, stand for extended periods, and actively supervise children indoors and outdoors
