When You’re Working as a Mess Attendant You Will:
  • Set up and restock drink stations, then take them down after service.
  • Wipe down and sanitize tables, and keep dessert displays looking fresh.
  • Mop, vacuum, dust, and keep furniture and fixtures spotless.
  • Clean restrooms, mirrors, windows, and doors to keep everything shining.
  • Take out trash and dispose of waste properly.
  • Always follow safety rules and wear protective gear when needed.
When You’re Working as a Driver You Will:
  • Safely transport employees between pick‑up spots and the worksite.
  • Perform daily vehicle checks and keep the shuttle clean and presentable.
  • Follow all safety rules and adjust routes when needed for smooth travel.
  • Pitch in with other tasks when not driving.
  • Keep accurate logs of routes, mileage, and passengers.
Day in the Life of a Mess Attendant & Driver:
Start Your Day Behind the Wheel:
  • Begin the day with a vehicle inspection, checking lights, brakes, and cleanliness.
  • Pick up employees from designated locations and safely transport them to the worksite.
  • Greet passengers with a friendly attitude and ensure everyone arrives on time.
  • Park the shuttle and check in with your supervisor for the day’s assignments.
Midday – Time to Start Your Mess Attendant Duties:
  • Help set up drink stations and keep them stocked throughout meal service.
  • Wipe down tables, refill dessert displays, and keep the dining area clean and welcoming.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust to maintain a tidy environment.
  • Clean and disinfect restrooms, windows, mirrors, and doors.
  • Take out trash and follow all safety and sanitation protocols.
End Your Shift Behind the Wheel:
  • Return to the shuttle and perform a quick post‑trip inspection.
  • Transport employees back to their drop‑off locations safely and on schedule.
  • Log mileage, routes, and passenger counts.
  • Wrap up the day by cleaning the shuttle and preparing it for the next shift.
What You’ll Need:
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving skills.
  • Experience driving vans or shuttles.
  • Friendly, respectful, and team player attitude.
  • Clear communication with team members and supervisors.
  • Ability to switch between driving and cleaning tasks.
  • Reliable, on‑time, and takes pride in their work.
  • Positive energy.

Physical & Environmental Demands
  • Standing and walking for long periods—often on hard surfaces like tile or concrete.
  • Lifting and carrying items up to 40–50 pounds, such as trash bags, supply boxes, or cleaning equipment.
  • Bending, reaching, and kneeling to clean under tables, wipe surfaces, or stock supplies.
  • Pushing and pulling carts, vacuums, or mop buckets.
  • Using hands and arms for repetitive tasks like mopping, wiping, or operating cleaning tools.
