General Manager - Dakota Square Mall

Job Overview

CBL Properties is an innovative retail real estate company that owns, holds interests in or manages shopping centers across the United States, including high‑quality enclosed, outlet and open‑air retail centers. We are seeking a General Manager for Dakota Square Mall in Minot, North Dakota. The General Manager will be responsible for the financial and operational performance of the center, driving revenue growth, controlling expenses, and ensuring a superior shopping experience for tenants and visitors.

• Continuously improve NOI and FFO performance of the property through effective planning and execution, including budget management focused on driving revenues (leasing, percentage‑rent optimization, temporary tenant and brand development revenues) and expense reduction (operational efficiency).
• Provide supervision to the Mall Management Team and oversight of Operations and Security; foster effective employee relations and collaboration with all team members.
• Represent the owner to merchants and the community through responsiveness, enforcement of agreements and policies.
• Collaborate with Leasing, Specialty Leasing and Advertising teams to enhance income generation.
• Work with the Senior General Manager to develop long‑range plans, including identification and recommendations regarding capital expenditures and appropriate redevelopment.
• Maintain safe, efficient, and attractive operations; ensure emergency preparedness in accordance with CBL guidelines.
• Work with designated vendors to effect energy management, recycling, and other sustainability initiatives.
• Proactively recognize issues and propose solutions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university preferred.
• Minimum of five years of related experience and/or training; an equivalent combination of education and experience (1 year education = 2 years experience) in Shopping Center Management may be considered.
• Strong written and oral communication skills essential for success.
• Excellent public relations abilities required.
• Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Yardi is a plus.
• Requires flexibility in working hours.
