Residential Direct Care Associate - Adult | Full Time positions with weekend and weekday shifts:
Sat-Sun 7am–7pm;
Mon-Tue 1pm–9pm.
Be part of the solution to the behavioral health crisis. As a team member for the ND Department of Health & Human Services, you will ensure the most vulnerable have access to a high-quality healthcare system in which prevention works, treatment is effective, and people recover.
Responsibilities- Serve as a Direct Care Associate III working with adults in a residential setting; provide positive mentoring and guidance to individuals affected by behavioral health disorders.
- Model a positive and respectful approach in all interactions and teach daily living activities, including household tasks, hygiene tasks, effective communication, and socialization to increase independence.
- Assist individuals in articulating goals and what is important to them; teach self-advocacy and self-help strategies to support goal achievement.
- Foster an environment that helps individuals overcome barriers and develop life skills.
- Travel to meet clients at their location as needed, in alignment with the blended workplace model.
- High school diploma or GED; and at least two years of work experience providing direct care to special populations.
- Valid driver’s license and successful completion of the assigned defensive driving course during new-hire orientation.
