SummaryThis position is located in the Red Lake Hospital in Bemidji Area Indian Health Service. The purpose of the position is to provide clinical nursing services in the inpatient care setting, which may include emergency room, urgent care, or outpatient department. Duties- Provide high standards of nursing services according to sound professional principles, adapting services to meet basic and special needs of patients using the nursing process.
- Assess patient care needs systematically through interviews, health record reviews, and consultations.
- Reassess needs based on patient responses to treatments.
- Administer prescribed therapeutic measures, including medications, immunizations, treatments, IV fluids, and other procedures.
- Pass pre-employment examination.
- Subject to probationary/trial period; typically two years for ESEP appointees.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Selective Service Registration required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Position involves contact/control over Indian children, requiring background checks and compliance with legal restrictions.
- May require vaccination against COVID-19, with exemptions possible.
- Successful completion of E-Verify employment verification.
- Set up direct deposit for salary payments.
- Background investigation including fingerprint check is required; continued employment contingent on clearance.

Basic Requirements- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Licensure as a registered nurse.
- GS-5:
Bachelor's degree or diploma/associate degree plus one year of experience. - GS-7:
Bachelor's degree plus experience or graduate coursework; diploma/associate plus two years experience. - GS-9:
Master's degree or equivalent experience and education.
At least one year of specialized professional nursing experience at the next lower grade level, demonstrating skills in patient care, medication administration, emergency response, and patient education.
