CWT Solutions Group (  ) is the global consulting arm of Carlson Wagonlit Travel, offering a wide range of sourcing and travel spend optimization services to corporate clients of all sizes and industry sectors. We help clients achieve savings on managed airline, hotel and ground transportation programs, payment and expense management systems, policy and compliance improvements and travel management governance patterns.

Within Solutions Group, the Technology & Development (TED) team acts as the technology partner of client-facing consulting teams, we manage the data infrastructure in collaboration with CWT IT department, identify the data and analytics needs and opportunities, design and develop the innovative technology solutions to efficiently deliver consulting services and data products to our customers.

As part of Technology & Development (TED) team, you’ll participate in, if not to lead, a variety of different projects and activities, including infrastructure and data management, data mining and visualization, analysis and report creation, process diagnosis and enhancement, as well as software development and data product development.

As the TED team is spread across multiple countries and covers the needs of internal and external customers from various regions (Americas, Europe, Asia-Pacific) and practices (Air, Hotel, Ground, Business Insights etc), you’ll have the exposure and challenge to work with colleagues across different time zones and cultures. Being the interface of commercial team and technology teams, you’re also expected to communicate well with audiences with different levels of technology literacy and skills.

Responsibilities

Participate in sprint-based agile software development projects as assigned to, which may be one of the below

• Develop data infrastructure and databases (on-site and cloud-based Hadoop ecosystem)
• Develop and optimize algorithms to reflect business logic and analytical methodologies
• Develop and maintain web applications using R (Shiny), Python (Django) or other technologies as data products prototypes or internal analytical and data management tools
• Develop advanced Business Intelligence reports, dashboards and data visualizations
• Actively contribute to enhance the technology capacity of entire TED team
• Explore, compare and introduce new techniques (languages, libraries, functions, software)
• Produce high-quality code reviews and documentation
• Structure and share knowledge via web posts, seminars and trainings etc
• Perform ad-hoc data analysis, process diagnosis, knowledge management, or change management tasks

Qualifications

OVERALL

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics or related field of study;
  Master Degree is a plus
• 2-4 years relative experience in big data analysis, software development, or other data and technology fields
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with an attention to detail
• Ability to think creatively and proactively
• Team player, ability to build strong relationships with peers and other co-workers across geographies
• Time management and multi-tasking skills

COMMUNICATION

• English fluent: written and oral
• Able to thrive within a multicultural environment
• Comfortable with communicating to various levels in the organization including Directors and above, Managers, and external parties
• Strong capacity to capture business needs and translate them into technical design and development requirements

TECHNICAL

• Knowledge of Hadoop-based big data ecosystem is required; cloud data ingestion and integration is a plus
• Knowledge of agile software development concept is required; experience in Scrum/ Kanban is a plus
• Knowledge of version management tools (e.g. Git) and Linux shell commands is a plus
• Must master at least one relational database technology and its query language:
  Oracle SQL Plus, Postgres, Hive, Impala or other
• Must know at least one programming language and its web application framework: preferably R / Shiny…
