The Finance and Accounting Manager supports Rainbow Companies growth by leading financial modeling, reporting, analytics, and systems, while partnering across teams to ensure accurate financial information. As an evolving organization, this role requires flexibility and a willingness to step into both finance and accounting tasks as needed, continually learning and adapting as the business grows.
The role works closely with the Finance Director and Sr. Accountant to improve the close cycle and deliver reliable financial insights that support decision making.
Salary Range: $100,000-$115,000
Key Accountabilities- Perform accounting tasks (journal entries, accrual inputs, reconciliations, data validations) to support a fast and accurate close.
- Identify process gaps and work with the Sr. Accountant to streamline workflows and shorten the close cycle.
- Ensure assumptions, timing, and actuals are aligned with accounting processes and documented consistently.
- Prepare audit support materials such as tie outs, schedules, and analytical reviews.
- Partner with the Sr. Accountant to ensure accurate, timely actuals that align with reporting needs.
- Produce monthly reporting packages, including actuals vs. budget, KPIs, and performance insights that clearly explain financial drivers and trends.
- Build and maintain financial models for budgets, forecasts, cash flow, margins, and long-term planning.
- Manage and enhance FP&A tools, including Excel models, BI dashboards, planning systems, and scenario planning models to provide analytical inputs for financial decision making.
- Improve data flow, automation, and reporting efficiency across systems.
- Partner with IT and the Finance Director to ensure accuracy and reliability of system integrations and financial data.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles, including FP&A.
- Experience building relationships and providing insights and support to business clients.
- Proven ability to manage processes, solve problems, and deliver results.
- Knowledge of accounting principles & experience with account reconciliations and month close.
- Experience in ERP systems and financial planning tools.
- Experience working with unstructured, decentralized data and creating KPIs and analytical insights.
- Experience with financial systems, business intelligence, reporting tools, & process automation.
- Strong Excel skills (advanced formulas, pivot tables, modeling).
- Excellent communication & relationship-building skills with a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work in grey space and simplify complex information.
