Claim Clerk - In Office

Location: Minnetonka, MN — Fully Onsite
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm EST
Salary: Hourly (37.5 hours per week) - $22 - 23/hour

Job Summary

Join our team as a Claim Clerk and play a key role in ensuring exceptional claim service. In this detail‑driven position, you’ll support our adjusters and client teams by organizing claim files, managing incoming and outgoing mail, and providing outstanding customer service to staff, vendors, and clients. Responsibilities
  • Set up new claim files and complete all required setup instructions.
  • Process, organize, and match incoming mail for assigned accounts.
  • File claim mail, correspondence, and supporting documents accurately.
  • Summarize correspondence and medical records within the claim log notes and file appropriately.
  • Follow up on bills and outstanding documentation.
  • Provide general administrative support to the claim staff and client‑specific teams.
  • Serve as Back‑Up Receptionist when needed.
  • Photocopy, scan, and retrieve claim documents.
  • Return provider or caller inquiries at the direction of claim staff.
  • Retrieve closed claim files and maintain storage organization.
  • Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and compliance with service commitments.
Qualifications Required Skills & Competencies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to coordinate, multitask, and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Self‑starter with initiative and the ability to work independently.
  • Flexibility and responsiveness to internal and external client needs.
  • Reliable, predictable attendance during business hours.
  • Discretion and confidentiality required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Highly efficient and organized work style.
  • Prior clerical or claim support experience in an insurance environment.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology is very helpful but not required.
