The primary responsibility of R.D. Offutt Company night shift Truck Drivers is to make local haul of product from designated farm bins to the customer.

• Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
• Operate equipment, such as telephones, to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
• Collect delivery instructions from the trucking office, verifying instructions and routes.
• Drive trucks with capacities greater than 3 tons, including tractor‑trailer combinations, to transport and deliver product.
• Check conditions of trailers after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been no damage.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs.
• Check all load‑related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
• Secure cargo for transport, using covers.
• Load and unload trucks, or help others with loading and unloading, operating any special loading‑related equipment on vehicles and using other equipment as necessary.
• Crank hopper doors open and closed.
• Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required.
• Climb in to and exit trucks multiple times throughout the day.
• Climb stairs multiple times a day.
• Walk on uneven ground at the farm locations.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.
• Conduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of R.D. Offutt Company.
• Proactively seek and participate in available company‑sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set.
• Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.
