Feed Mill Truck Driver

Overview

Schwartz Farms, Inc. is a family-owned pork producer committed to integrity, respect, excellence, and adaptability. We are seeking a Feed Mill Driver who will deliver feed from the mill to various farm locations while upholding safety and regulatory standards.

The Feed Mill Driver is responsible for delivering feed from the mill to various farm locations. Duties include promoting safety, care, and timeliness, as well as complying with state and federal commercial transportation regulations.

• Operate truck in compliance with commercial driving regulations and road restrictions.
• Participate in certification and training programs to maintain CDL requirements and promote safety.
• Maintain accurate internal records, including load verification and documentation per SFI’s Animal Food Safety Plan.
• Utilize technology to provide proper and timely production data.
• Maintain accurate DOT paperwork, ensuring cargo and truck equipment are secure and performing pre- and post-inspections.
• Perform necessary functions at delivery sites, such as loading/unloading bulk feed and cleaning spilled feed.
• Report equipment issues to the Feed Mill Manager and perform emergency roadside repairs when necessary.
• Maintain truck/trailer readiness, including washing, following biosecurity procedures, and conducting minor repairs.

• Collaborate with Feed Mill Manager and staff, introducing best practices and adapting to changing environments.
• Promote Schwartz Farms at delivery sites, fuel stations, and other locations.
• Demonstrate Schwartz Farms’ values of integrity, respect, excellence, and adaptability.
• Advocate and engage in SFI’s animal welfare policy, ensuring animal well-being and reporting mistreatment.
• Maintain and promote a safe working environment.

• Valid Class A commercial driver's license and health card.
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to meet DOT drug & alcohol requirements.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Strong reading and instruction-following abilities.
• Professional presentation of Schwartz Farms.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.

• Previous feed delivery experience.
• 3-5 years of driving experience.

The position involves travel and non-standard business hours. The majority of time will be spent operating the feed truck, with anticipated physical work.

$25.00 per hour
