Overview
Position: Head Volleyball Coach
Location: Lester Prairie High School
Starting date: School Year
Salary range: $4,458 - $6,023
Reports to: Activities Director
Date of posting: January 5, 2026
Responsibilities- Lead the planning, development, and execution of the 7-12 Volleyball program by focusing on building a positive culture and developing quality relationships with student-athletes and parents.
- Implement an effective training and competition program that maximizes student-athlete performance in the sport, including strength training
- Provide direction and evaluation for assistant coaches in the program to ensure continuity through all levels
- Communicate effectively with all program stakeholders to ensure a positive, quality experience is provided for our student-athletes
- Manage equipment inventory and budget for program
- Perform other duties as outlined by the MSHSL, Coaches Handbook, and Section Tournament Administrators
- Valid Minnesota coaching certification or meets acceptable criteria for non-licensed coach
- Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program
- Prefer previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport
- The Head Coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport
- Works collaboratively with students, parents, and other members of the community
- Effective interpersonal interactions and communication skills as applied to interaction with both youth and adults
- Skilled in team building, decision making, problem solving, and conflict resolution
- Ability to serve as an effective role model for student-athletes and represent Lester Prairie Schools with respect in all communities
- Experience with ‘Why We Play’ and “Positive Coaching Alliance” seminar/coaches training preferred.
