Job Summary
This role involves planning and conducting practice sessions, developing players' skills, and instilling values of sportsmanship and teamwork.
Junior High Coach - Cass Lake-Bena Schools, ISD 115Part-Time, Seasonal
Stipend - Level 6 - $1,758 - $2,105
Reports to the Head Coaches
Key Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and conduct practice sessions focusing on skill development and physical conditioning.
- Teach fundamentals, including proper techniques.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive team culture.
- Manage team logistics, including scheduling practices, matches, and transportation.
- Monitor and evaluate player progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
- Ensure all players understand and adhere to the rules and regulations of the sport.
- Maintain inventory of equipment and ensure it is in good condition.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and the athletic department.
- Foster academic success and personal growth in student-athletes.
- Uphold the school's values and ensure the well-being and safety of all team members.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and the athletic department regarding schedules, expectations, and team needs under the direction of the head coach.
- Help ensure all team members meet academic and eligibility requirements under the direction of the head coach.
- Manage rosters, attendance, schedule, and budget, including ordering uniforms, equipment, and supplies under the direction of the head coach.
- Understanding of Google Suite for administrative duties is preferred.
- Uphold school student and athletic policies.
- Must be available for after-school practices, evening games, and occasional weekend events.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions during outdoor events/indoor events.
- Physical ability to demonstrate techniques and participate in physical activities.
- Strong understanding of fundamentals and techniques.
- Previous coaching experience, preferably with high school/junior high athletes.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Commitment to promoting academic achievement and personal growth.
- First aid/CPR certification preferred.
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalent required.
