This position with the Duininck Paving team offers the opportunity to operate screed equipment to produce smooth, accurate asphalt surfaces while working closely with a skilled paving crew.

• Safely operate the screed to level asphalt or concrete to the specified depth, grade, and surface quality.
• Read grade stakes and work with grade checkers, lasers, or GPS systems to maintain correct grade and alignment.
• Work closely with crew members using hand signals and verbal communication to coordinate work and maintain safe operations.
• Keep equipment clean, organized, and prepared for transport when needed.
• Perform daily inspections, lubrication, fluid checks, and basic maintenance to ensure the screed remains in safe working condition.
• Notify mechanics when additional maintenance or repairs are required.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe jobsite environment.
• Follow supervisor instructions and complete tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch, and sit for extended periods.
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Regularly work extended or overtime hours depending on project workload.
• Travel required throughout Central & Western Minnesota, Northern Iowa, and the Eastern Dakotas.

• Individuals who work safely and have the courage to speak up when unsafe behavior or conditions arise.
• Strong understanding of basic safety requirements, PPE standards, and OSHA/MSHA considerations.
• Ability to follow directions, work in a team environment, and communicate effectively.
• Mechanical aptitude for routine equipment maintenance.
• Strong work ethic and reliability in fast-paced field environments.
• Willingness to travel as needed and work long or irregular hours during the construction season.
• A commitment to high-quality work and an unwavering focus on safety.
