Bakery Deli Specialist

Description Summary

Mackenthun's Bakery/Deli Specialists are responsible for performing Bakery/Deli duties according to department standards and processes.

• Bakery/Deli Specialists provide excellent customer service.
• Take and fill Bakery and Deli orders.
• Prepare hot and cold deli products and prepare bakery products.
• Package and label products.
• Stock shelves and rotate products.
• Responsible for following safe food handling guidelines, organization of the work area, and clean-up, including proper sanitation in the department.

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED preferred but not necessary.
• MN Certified Food Protection Manager license optional
• Previous Bakery and/or Deli experience preferred.
• Be a positive and creative trend-setter with excellent customer service skills, problem solving, and decision making skills.
• Must be honest and dependable.
• Must be a self-starter, able to work independently and as a team member.
• Must be skilled in basic math.
• Must be able to clearly speak, read and write the English language.
• Minimize department losses due to improper product handling, storage, damage and spoils.
• Perform duties in a manner that safeguards company equipment, resources and image.

• Constant standing/walking/hearing and seeing for long periods of time.
• Frequent bending at the waist, reaching with hands and arms, above shoulders/below waist, crouching/stooping/kneeling, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs., use of pallet jack.
• This position requires close/distance/peripheral vision, depth perception and color vision.

Must be able to work with and around machine noise in hot or cold temperatures, on terrazzo flooring in a smoke-free facility in a multifaceted and fast paced environment.

Exposure to cleaning chemicals.
