Position Summary

The Princeton Retail Store Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the Princeton Retail Store location and staff. This includes inventory, merchandising, pricing, point of sale systems, online orders, customer service and staff training and supervision. In partnership with Outreach Coordinator, identify potential outreach programs and establish schedules for these programs. Direct supervision of team members, staffing levels as defined by the Director of Retail, including recruiting મહત્વ, interviewing, hiring, hiring, development and training, and ensure that all team members work in a way consistent with PRIs core values.

  • Minimum one‑year post‑secondary academic training in Retail Sales, Merchandising, or Retail Management; or equivalent experience in a Retail setting.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Supervision and training of the Princeton retail staff to include knowledge of PRESTO, appropriate client protocol, operations of equipment, store opening and closing procedures, and daily cleaning and maintenance of retail area.
  • Recruiting, interviewing and hiring Princeton retail store staff.
  • Provide Princeton retail sales and budget projections by week to include all weekly labor. In addition, provide a separate projection for seed and plant sales.
  • Schedule Princeton weekly retail staff.
  • Participate in shows, conferences, and events as needed.
  • Collaborate with other stores to create seasonally relevant merchandise displays.
  • Manage retail website communications and square applications, defining and managing order and fulfillments (shared with bulk order retail manager).
  • Understand designated sales goals and drive team to meet them.

Retail Sales
  • Learn and train team using PRI point of sale/register systems.
  • In partnership with Bulk Sales Coordinator and Seed Warehouse Manager or Assistant Manager, receive online/phone orders and coordinate order fulfillment.
  • Plan shipping, pick‑up, and/or delivery of orders.
  • Work with main office to plan shipping and payment.
  • Track online/phone orders to completion using Net Suite sales/inventory system.
Care for Native Plants
  • Watering and Weeding
  • Provide treatment for common plant problems
