The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is a growth role intended to develop future leaders to think strategically about the store and globally about the future of the district and Caribou as a whole. The AGM works in partnership with the General Manager to run the store, impact the team and community, and lay the foundation for becoming a General Manager within a year.
CoreResponsibilities
- Demonstrate the DOING of Team Member and Shift Leader with ease, enthusiasm, and excellence.
- Develop a deep understanding of the business to the level of a General Manager over the course of a year.
- Bring joy to everyone who walks into the store, creating real connections and teaching the team to do the same.
- Champion an environment that fosters goal-surpassing speed through effective deployment, in-the-moment problem solving, and team motivation.
- Hit sales goals through the connection between speed and service.
- Take lead on problem resolution, showing calm, professionalism, emotional maturity, and a commitment to listening to understand.
- Connect day‑to‑day behaviors to the end result as you develop a broad understanding of the Profit & Loss statement.
- Organize, execute, and improve upon administrative tasks, connecting daily/weekly/monthly tasks to overall business success.
- Responsible for all store funds while on shift by enforcing cash‑handling policies.
- Place, receive, and verify orders; conduct inventory; control waste and dates and rotate inventory when necessary.
- Think holistically about store success, focusing on the future beyond your shift.
- Seek to understand root causes of problems to create sustainable change.

- Required:
1‑3 years of prior restaurant/retail experience requiring strong customer service commitment. - Ability to work early mornings, evenings, some holidays, and/or weekends.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Preferred:
High school diploma or GED equivalent. - Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- 1 year of supervisory experience.
Hearing, speaking, seeing, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for 4–8 hours. Physical demands may be accommodated with reasonable accommodations.
Compensation$16.52 – $27.53 per hour. Starting pay is subject to local and state minimum wage regulations.
