Base pay range

$15.69/hr - $20.40/hr

As a full‑time Assistant Store Manager you are passionate about providing the best shoe store experience for the whole family through customer engagement. You perform the role of store leader in the absence of the Store Manager, motivating a team to achieve sales targets and growth goals. Through training and development you support an in‑store culture where customers say, “I’ll take it” and are loyal to your store, brands, and company.

You are enthusiastic about the product and presentation of your store, keeping up to date on trends and supporting your team’s knowledge. Most importantly, you LOVE shoes and help every person who enters your store experience a little bit of that Famous Feeling.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Inspire the Customer Connection: inspire associates with integrity and drive, foster a culture of caring and camaraderie focused on customer relationships, operational excellence, and flawless delivery of both. Infuse coaching moments for the selling behaviors behind our Customer Connection.
  • Champion Talent Discovery: be enthusiastic and proactive about seeking and networking with exceptional external talent, collaborate with the Store Manager to interview and hire individuals passionate about creating top‑notch customer experiences.
  • Ace Retail Operations & Support Staffing Levels: maintain operational fundamentals—pricing, shipping, processing, inventory—so the store runs smoothly. Support staffing levels set by the Store Manager considering associate availability, peak days, and seasonal hiring needs.
  • Leverage Insights to Deliver Results: take accountability for your goals and their impact on overall performance, drive sales with purpose and determination, and partner with the Store Manager to apply insights to improve results.
  • Be a Culture Builder: support a work and team environment where diversity and inclusivity are valued, ensure each associate feels included and respected, and maintain a positive proactive mindset even in challenges.
  • Be our Store Manager’s Right Hand: step into the Store Manager’s shoes when they are away, refine your people leadership, and maintain compliance of all company programs through training, ongoing development, and consistent inspection.

Preferred Qualifications & Education
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of sales experience (retail sales preferred).
  • Experience in interviewing, hiring, and training people.
  • Ability to lead, manage, motivate, and communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
  • Ability to train, coach, and develop associates to provide an engaging customer experience and execute operational tasks.
  • Independent judgment and discretion partnering with Store Sales Manager as needed.
