Registered Nurse (RN)

Agency: Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs Location: Preston, MN Hours: Part‑Time, Evening Shift 2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
Pay: $39.30 – $58.16 per hour, plus $2.75 shift differential (6 p.m. – 6 a.m.)

• Provide assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of resident‑centered nursing care in accordance with the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act and federal, state, and VA regulations.
• Document care and use electronic charting systems such as Point Click Care .
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, interdisciplinary team, and supervisors.
• Participate in clinical quality and safety initiatives.
• Provide mentorship and supervision of lower‑level nursing staff when assigned.

• Registered Nurse licensure in Minnesota, current and in good standing.
• BLS or CPR certification from a recognized organization, or ability to obtain by hire.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer skills sufficient for electronic charting.

• Experience in a skilled nursing facility or long‑term care setting.
• Experience working with a veteran population.
• Knowledge of Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments.
• Ability to evaluate nursing care provided by other staff and make recommendations.

• DHS background check required for finalists.
• Tuberculosis screening (Mantoux or chest X‑ray) required prior to employment.
• Employment reference checks conducted on finalists.
