• Positions Requirements And Benefits

• The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as a caregiver to the resident during scheduled work periods in long term care. Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned resident under supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
• Delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per care plan.
• Acts as a member of the nursing team; follows infection prevention and control policies and PPE use.
• Assists with basic health care needs including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and psychosocial support.
• Assists residents with transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct techniques and equipment; provides range of motion and passive exercises.
• Prepares and assists with food preparation and dining; creates a positive dining experience and assists with meals and snacks.
• Assists providers and nursing staff with procedures as needed; documents resident interactions and outcomes.
• Communicates changes in resident condition to the charge nurse; collects non-invasive specimens and vital signs as required.
• Provides housekeeping and laundry support to maintain clean and comfortable living areas; supports wellness and recreational programs.
• May participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Required CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state-certified CNA within four months by enrollment in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification; CNA training and certification provided by facility.
• Colorado:
  Qualified Medication Administration Person (QMAP) certification may be required depending on facility.
• Yearly department-specific competency testing and minimum 12 hours continuing education annually; maintain required certifications.
• In applicable states, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.
• May be classified as Sanford Category II Driver depending on facility requirements; driving qualifications as per Sanford Driving Policy.
