- Accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care.
- Supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family.
- Functions within the Mayo Nursing Care Model, planning, implementing, evaluating and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients.
- Provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role, informal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts.
- Delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and adequacy of resources.
- Possesses excellent communication skills; is skillful in mentoring and teaching; may participate on committees or projects.
- Student or graduate of a registered nursing program.
- For entry‑level associate degree RN starting after April 1, 2020, must provide documented evidence of completion of a baccalaureate degree within five years of RN start date.
- For entry‑level associate degree RN starting prior to April 1, 2020, must provide documented evidence of a bachelor’s degree as per the program in place at time of hire.
- One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is preferred.
- Current MN RN License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers, obtained through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
The pay for this role is $42.84–$65.84. Mayo Clinic’s innovative nursing compensation model rewards experience, education, and dedication to the organization, coupled with a competitive tuition reimbursement program.

Schedule Details- 12‑hour rotating day/night shifts; holiday rotation.
- Training to both Medical Surgical and the ED.
- Weekend schedule: every 3rd weekend.
