Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Med/Surg position in an acute care setting with rotating day and night shifts involving weekend coverage and Epic EMR use.
Responsibilities- Work in an acute care hospital on the Medical Surgical (Med Surg) unit
- Patient population includes general Med Surg cases such as CHF, pneumonia, ARF, and typical geriatric patients, with occasional post-operative total knees and hips
- Care for both geriatric and a few younger adult patients
- Shifts are 12 hours and rotate between days and nights
- Weekend schedule includes either weekends only or two weekends on and one off
- 13-week assignment duration
- Epic is used for documentation
- Critical Access Hospital (CAH) environment
- Orientation consists of 12 hours at the start of the assignment
- Responsibilities include caring for patients with a variety of acute and post-surgical needs
- Dress code and scrub color will be shared during onboarding
- Holiday and weekend coverage may be required according to unit needs
- Active MN RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience
- Current certifications in BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, and TNCC required
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
