Part-time, variable schedule, 15-20hrs/week including evenings & weekends

Various community sites and events across NE MN and NW WI
PT Temporary Position (not benefits eligible)
Compensation$20-$25/hr. based on experience
About the PositionWilderness Health is seeking a motivated and personable Summer Outreach Staff to support our public health initiatives during the busy summer season. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys engaging with community members, representing an organization at public events, and making a positive impact on local health and wellness.
Position to run from Memorial Day - Labor Day.
Key Responsibilities- Represent Wilderness Health at community events, fairs, and outreach activities throughout the summer.
- Engage community members in conversations about public health topics, programs, and available resources.
- Set up and break down outreach booths, displays, and educational materials.
- Distribute informational materials and answer basic questions about programs and resources.
- Assist staff in collecting outreach data, surveys, and participant feedback.
- Maintain a professional and positive presence while interacting with diverse populations.
- Support additional outreach or administrative tasks as needed.
- HS Diploma + 5 years work experience
- Hiring upon cleared background study and clean driving record
- Personable, approachable, and comfortable initiating conversations with the public.
- Interest in public health, community engagement, or non-profit work.
- Reliable transportation to travel to events and outreach sites.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays as required by the event schedule. (The majority of the work will be evenings, weekends and occasional holidays.)
- Strong communication skills and a population health mindset.
- Ability to lift and transport outreach materials (up to ~25 lbs) preferred, sometimes over uneven ground.
- Previous outreach or population health experience is a plus but not required.
- Hands-on experience in community health outreach.
- A supportive team environment and opportunities to develop communication and engagement skills.
- Training in public health messaging and community interaction techniques.
- $20-$25 Hourly wage based on experience
- Earned Safe and Sick Leave (ESST)
- Mileage reimbursement to and from events
