Dassel-Cokato Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and organized individual to serve as a Volunteer Coordinator at Dassel Elementary. This part-time position is responsible for managing and supporting our volunteer program, fostering a positive and engaging environment for volunteers, and ensuring that our school community benefits from their contributions. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and community members.
Duties:
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to support various school programs and events
- Develop and implement volunteer orientation and training sessions to ensure volunteers are well-prepared for their roles
- Coordinate volunteer schedules and assignments, ensuring proper coverage for school activities
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours, roles, and contributions.
Communicate regularly with volunteers to provide updates, gather feedback, and recognize their efforts - Collaborate with school staff to identify volunteer needs and opportunities for engagement
- Plan and organize volunteer appreciation events to acknowledge and celebrate volunteer contributions
- Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers, addressing any questions or concerns that may arise
- Promote the volunteer program through newsletters, social media, and community outreach initiatives
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, including students, parents, and staff
- Proficiency in Google Workspace is preferred
- A positive attitude, enthusiasm for working with children, and a commitment to fostering a supportive school community
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in education, nonprofit management, or a related field is preferred
- Previous experience in volunteer management, community engagement, or a related role is a plus
